This is an early plein air landscape, painted in oils in 2007. The garden scene is in London Town Gardens, in Edgewater, Maryland near the South River. I lived in Edgewater for 15 years with my husband, Perry and our outdoor cat Petey.
My artworks reflect the beauty and light I see in Creation. Over my life, I have worked in oils, acrylics, watercolor, graphite, charcoal and relief printmaking. Working in oils is my favorite medium, although I love them all. I earned a BA in Studio Art with cum laude honors from UMUC, in College Park, MD. I taught watercolor and acrylic painting in Maryland and Virginia, until covid closed things down. Perry and I lived in Maryland and Virginia for over 30 years. We recently moved to Leola, PA to take care of Perry's Aunt Mildred. Perry grew up in Lititz, PA . After being in the Lancaster area for a couple of years, we decided to call Leola, PA our new home.
